Both apps does the same. Plink is the visual search engine apps, that helps to find out more about something just by clicking the photo. Plink is more concerned with art network.

Plink has only been available for the public only for four months, but it contrasted with the sprit that google was going to deliver with Google’s Goggles. Google Goggles is a project (integrated with aneroid) that inputs pictures from the users and identifies it and gives information to the input.

As google already has “Artwork” category, but plink technology was specialized for artwork which will definitely improve visual search offerings across that category.

“The visual search engines of today can do some pretty cool things, but they still have a long long way to go. We’re looking forward to helping the Goggles team build a visual search engine that works not just for paintings or book covers, but for everything you see around you. There are beautiful things to be done with computer vision – it’s going to be a lot of fun!”  reads a post in plink blog.

This is likely just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Google’s buying spree, too. Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in September that the company hopes to acquire one small company per month in the aftermath of the recession. The Plink acquisition represents one in a string of many that will continue to be announced in the coming months. We hope google plans for Googles will spreads throughout the web search engine and will also be available in non-Android devices.
