A Pakistani court have ordered ISP authorities to block access to Facebook over the Caricatures of Prophet Muhammad.
The block order was followed by the complain on the Facebook group for “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day“. The group was going on a contest on 20th May, and had become a target for protest in Pakistan and Today Islamic Lawyers filed an order for a full suspension of Facebook. Previously only the pages were blocked. The group is believed to have more than 43,000 supporters.
Facebook will remain blocked in Pakistan until May 31. Recently in 2008, Pakistan had also blocked YouTube for videos on Caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.
