Ubuntu 12.04 has been officially released and is now available for download.

Codenamed after a mammal “Precise Pangolin”, this popular Linux distribution Ubuntu 12.04 is based on Linux Kernel 3.2, and primarily focuses on enterprise desktop. As Canonical’s Fourth ‘Long Term Support’ release Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is scheduled to provide hardware and maintenance updates for the next five years.

While LTS (Long Term Support) releases normally emphasize on consolidation and stability, Pangolin includes several noticeable features. The overhauled Unity Greeter is instantly notable with a tweaked UI, new animations, and wallpaper matching to selected user-account. Ubuntu 12.04 is the first desktop version to be equipped with the Unity Shell Interface. The latest Unity Shell, version 5.10 takes new lenses, options and other minor tweaks that boosts performance. The new search-based menu system HUD (Head-Up Display) has been added that gives a fast alternative to the traditional, menu-based way of exploring and that will come as a relief to those who constantly forget where a particular option is buried.

Ubuntu 12.04 has vastly improved its performance and power management. As Battery friendliness is a major challenge for Ubuntu, Canonical promise over Ubuntu’s Battery friendliness soon. The next release, Ubuntu 12.10 is slated to arrive in October this year. It is named Quantal Quetzal, after ‘resplendent’ bird where Canonical is focusing on Q for Quality,

Q will be all about style on the client, with a refresh of our theme and typography, a start on new iconography and perhaps even a new form factor taking flight.
- Mark Shuttleworth

Ubuntu 12.04 may be downloaded from Ubuntu.com and for further features and release notes.
Wearing a goggles can sometime be necessity and sometimes passion. If we have our virtual world (internet and social media) accessible using goggles then wearing goggles can be both or even more?

Google, a giant IT company has been experimenting new technologies that could make our life simpler. This time Google is working to shape computer on our eyeglass.According to Google a team from Google[x] has started to work on this technology.

Google have created its page in Google + namely Project Glass in order to take views from users about what may user like to see from Project Glass. In a post in the page Google posted:

A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment. We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.

If they succeeded on ‘Project Glass’ then we may carry a computer in our glasses and use it for our daily needs like navigation, chatting (video, audio and as well as texts). Here is video demonstration what a eyeglass computer might does.

Here is demonstration what a ‘Project Glass’ may look like:

With the release of Windows 8 Consumer Preview and Windows Server 8 Beta, Microsoft has also showcased a pile of two most-important products for Microsoft-focused developers. Visual Studio 11 Beta, Team Foundation Server 11 Beta and .NET Framework 4.5 Beta are on the list for a peek at the features.

Visual Studio 11 Beta comes with a clean and professional less colorful UI and iconography allowing a choice between a light and dark color theme. Beyond the user interfaces changes, there are many features and improvements on this release. The overall environment has been streamlined with simplified toolbar and buttons, a lightweight Find dialog, and less tab clutter by previewing files rather than opening them during debugging.

Visual Studio 11 Beta includes support 5 languages in the box: C#, Visual Basic, F#, C++ and JavaScript. Visual C++ 11 includes the full C++ 11 standard library as well as new language features such as stateless lambdas, SCARY iterators, range-based for loops, and scoped enumerations support. For C# 5.0 and VB 11.0, the major innovation in this release has been around asynchronous development. In F# 3.0, the primary focus is information-rich programming, which enables you to program directly against data services, and is made possible by F# type providers and LINQ queries, writes Jason Zander, corporate vice president of Visual Studio. VS 11 provides a good support for building graphically rich 2D/3D applications. It enables users to debug DirectX graphics, to design and code DirectX shaders (HLSL), and to inspect and manipulate graphics assets (image and models).

.NET Framework 4.5 includes a number of core improvements on performance, compatibility, garbage collection and other optimizations. A subset of the .NET Framework 4.5 Beta is available for building Metro style apps for Windows by using C# or VB. It provides several new features and improvements for parallel computing. These include improved performance, increased control, improved support for asynchronous programming, a new dataflow library (TPL Dataflow), and improved support for parallel debugging and performance analysis. It further includes portable libraries which is a recommended way to create managed assemblies that can be referenced and run without modification on a variety of target platforms, including Windows 8, Windows Phone, Silverlight, XBOX 360 and .NET.

Visual Studio 11 Beta has several compatibility improvements. Visual Studio 11 still remains codename, and the official product name is expected to be different, something like Visual Studio 2012, reminds Zander. Downloads are available from the main website. These downloads are available under “Go Live” license, meaning they can immediately be used in production environments and will be supported by Microsoft.

Share your experiences with this Beta release.

Google celebrates an amazing day that comes only once every four years with a new doodle. It also commemorates the 220th birth anniversary of Gioachino Rossini, along with the leap day.

It is, of course, February 29: Leap Day. Leap years and leap days are usually associated with frogs, the amphibians for their leaping behavior.

Google Doodle, Today takes a great combination of frogs, the leap day and the Italian composer Gioachino Rossini who was born on leap year. It tributes to Gioachino Antonio Rossini’s famous 1816 comic opera The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia), one of the most performed operas.

The doodle consists of four frogs. A female frog is shown singing towards another frog sat at a piano, with love hearts symbolizing the tradition that it is acceptable for a woman to propose to a man on the 29th February on leap day in a leap year. Two others are: a barber frog and a frog getting a shave.

Google has a history of Leap Year Doodles. The first one came in 2004 with a frog leaping another frog, followed by a frog leaping forming the lower case letter “L” in 2008.

Apple has made an invitation to a grand event on March 7th where it is likely to reveal iPad3. As all the rumors about next generation of iPad flooded over the web, Apple announces the date to introduce iPad 3.

Rumors about the features of iPad 3 are busted everywhere in the web world. iPad 3 is predicted to support LTE and NFC technology for networking and also to have improved features such as retina display, better resolution, faster processor (probably a quad-core), additional storage, upgraded quality of camera.
Apple shall release features, specifications and other details of iPad 3 only on March 7th. Hence, customers are already curios about its availability date and price. For record, iPad 1 was available in the market after 3 months of its announcement while iPad 2 came out within a week.
So stay tuned to explore the advantage of iPad 3 over other Tablets. Then decide and feel free to drop down your opinion
“Is it worthy to buy an iPad again?”

The GNOME Project has released the first Beta release of GNOME 3.4 for testing. It means that no more major changes will be made to this version from this point on. The development update was already put to freeze a week ago mentioning no new features, no UI changes and other features.

The GNOME 3.4 Beta 1 release brings a range of updates to main components, such as GNOME Contacts, GNOME Control Center, GNOME Desktop, GNOME Disk Utility, GNOME Panel, GNOME Screensaver, GNOME Session, GNOME Settings Daemon, GNOME Shell, GNOME System Monitor, GNOME Themes Standard, Mousetweaks, and GNOME User Docs.

Moreover, improvements have been made on apps like NetworkManager, Empathy, Evince, Yelp, Nautilus, and Eye of GNOME. The updated version of NetworkManager includes basic support for VLAN interfaces and 802.1x EAP-FAST authentication. It also includes a basic support for bonded network ports. The GNOME shell and screensaver now use systemd for console/session handling to obtain information on active users.

The first Beta of GNOME 3.4 is officially labeled GNOME 3.3.90 Beta. The second Beta will be released on 7th of March, followed by the GNOME 3.4 Release Candidate on 21st of March.

The final release of GNOME 3.4 development cycle is scheduled for March 28th, 2012.

The best battery life in the history of smart-phones has finally hit the market. The Droid Razr Maxx boasts a 3,300mAh battery without adding a whole lot of extra heft to the size of the phone. To put it into perspective, the latest addition to the 4G LTE capable smart-phone network can hold a stand-by charge for a little over 2 weeks.
Splash-resistant, Gorilla Glass and Kevlar coated, the non-removable battery allows for 21 hours of non-stop talk time, 7 hours of surfing, over 2 full days of music play and 15 hours of video streaming.

Other features of the phone are pretty standard for top of the line smart-phones on the market at the moment. Fully loaded with multiple Google apps, bluetooth 4.0, YouTube and many other applications will get you going. The 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and Gingerbread 2.3.5 give you the juice for whatever you want to run, while the 1080 pixel HD video capture, 8 mega-pixel rear-facing and 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing cameras provide you with the tools to upload whatever media you want.

Whenever the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update is available, Droid makers have stated that the transition will go smoothly rather than crash out like when the Nexus tried to update.

Considering the amount of cloud storage being used and streaming, it’s unlikely you’ll need more than the 16GB of available memory. The user interface is top notch too. iPhones may finally have a very serious competitor on their hands. Because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a better battery for their smart-phone without having to sacrifice anything else?

As we know the customer preview of Windows 8 is going to release shortly this months and full version of Windows 8 will also ship this year so there is discussion about the support and services of Windows 8 worldwide. Now we are discussing about SkyDrive.

Microsoft introduced its personal cloud file hosting service in 2011. As we see it is not easy syncing with Skydrive with current Windows 7 environment. Now Windows 8 will have good support to Skydrive. Using Skydrive you can easily access files from any computer with Windows 8 or any Web browser. Windows 8 is going to have it metro apps for supporting Skydrive. You can easily drag and drop files to the cloud. Windows Form application will also have easy access to Save and Open file in Skydrive just as browsing local hard drive.

You can have good look by looking video in this link.
